Merritt Estate Winery was the first farm winery organized in Chautauqua County under regulations signed by Governor Carey in 1976. The original homestead has been in the family since the late 1800's owned by the parents of Marguerite Merritt Sample. The award winning Merritt Estate wines are produced under the careful direction of William and Jason Merritt. Local grapes are harvested, crushed and fermented under the highest standards, to produce fine wines that we are proud to serve in our own homes.
